Went to buy wipers...when the salesman said "Wow! They're proud of these things", I remembered there was a thread about this, and an alternative. Left with just the rear wiper ($10) and a plan to return with a cheaper part #!

At one time I used to buy OEM LR wipers at ridiculous prices. I now use Bosch or Trico when I can get them or just cheaper wiper blades. In all honesty there doesn't seem to be much difference as they all crack away in the heat. As long as they don't judder backwards and forwards they are good enough.

Really not bad. It's like 1 screw and 8-10 little 10mm hex fasteners bolts. Less than 10 minutes to pop off the panel.
I think the outside mount snorkel can be done without removal.

Hey guys just thought I would share my story and maybe give a friendly reminder to never over look even most simple of DIY jobs.

I changed my oil about 2 weeks ago right after our first snow of the year. I went about my business since then. However the other day I noticed that the ultragauge was reading 204 which was unusual for my normal running temps. (194-196).

So I decide to see if I can find something leaking yesterday and I notice that my thermostat was wet around the hose clamps. So that will have to be dealt with. Anyways since I was under the hood I decided to check my oil and lord behold my oil was so low it was to the fill line.

So I put more oil in it and let the truck run to try and track the leak. I found that my damn oil filter was loose! A half turn stopped the leak.

Moral of the story, make sure your oil filter is tight and remember to check things under the hood every few weeks. If I didn't notice my temperature spike I wouldn't have checked my oil and I very well could have had a blown motor.

Ticked a couple boxes off on the 'I bought a high mileage Disco' service list -

Flush and change coolant, new pressure cap, new 180F t-stat
Cleaned MAF and replaced air filter
Fixed horn button where it popped out and the spring was lost
Can of Seafoam in the fuel tank
Marvelled at the amount of oil stuck to the bottom end that was hidden behind the lower engine cover

My winch sacrificed itself for the better good of the vehicle. Pulled myself out of a sticky situation, but after I was done all it would do is a clicking noise. I'm gonna take it apart tomorrow to see what the cause is and if it is fixable.

Just changed the spark plugs. Had every intention of changing the wires... then I took a really good look at them. how the hell do some of you change those things without removing the plenum?
