Well checked all fluids (as I do every other day) everything looks fine except I was 1/2 a quart of oil low (expected since I just flushed it a week and a half ago), noticed a slight crack in the upper assembly of the right headlight looked them up online and they don't appear to have an assembly on the top...on top of this they're crazy expensive so that's a repair that's going to have to wait (j.b. weld to the rescue).

Going to raid the drum break rebuild kits to see if I can find a good candidate.
Just pull the arms off.. take the "c" shaped spring retainer.. squeeze it closer together put it back together. Worked wonderfully for me.

I was thinking about doing the same thing but I couldn't figure out how the spring came out. I will try it again removing the whole arm.

Didn't have to take it off. Channel locks fit inside the arm (when pulled away from the windshield). Didn't seem to improve wiper contact though, so I bent the actual blade at the ends and that seemed to help a little.
