No problem, just check the temp after a good drive.

Mine looked like that but it was leaking oil so I bought the pinion seal. After 2 days of trying to remove the centering pin using the socket method I gave up and poured a bottle of Blue Devil in it and haven't had a drop leak since.

Drive-shafts also make a similar noise sometimes too.

I checked by Drive Shaft already. Can't see anything and everything is tight. Going to check the diff's tomorrow.

[QUOTE=Jared9220;461527]I was under the rover today looking at what watts bushings I needed to order and it turned out I only had a loose nut on the outside bushing and after snugging it up all was well. I love fixes like that, especially after seeing the price of those little bushings.

Jared, also make sure your vent tubes are not clogged. If they are and the condensation can build up over time and has no where to escape. It can then mix with your oil.

How would I go about checking the vent tubes? Can I just pull the tube out of the axle and blow air through it? I tend to break every plastic vent and vacuum tube I touch on this truck so I figured I would ask first.

I am getting a similar noise. How do I check the differential to see if that is the source?

You can try blowing through it from outside in. If you feel resistance then it's blocked. You can also remove it from the fitting and pull it out and test by blowing as well.

If i remember correctly to remove the tube you push down on the fitting and pull on the breather tube at the same time.
