What did you do with your DII today?
I installed Magnaflow Catalytic converters today. The truck seems to move a little better now and my exhaust leak noise is gone
. I do feel like I can hear an engine tick louder now, but I'm betting it was just hard to hear along with the exhaust leak. I'm trying to make it to 200K before I rebuild to fix the tick.
First let me say this. Magnaflow must think there products are indestructible because they sure don't package it well at all. This is how it arrived. 1 piece of padding on one side and nothing else. I could hear the pipes smacking together when the Fed-Ex guy dropped it on my door step.
The guy never rings my door bell so I had to run out and call him back while I inspected the package. Low and behold there was a big hole in the box. I freaking hate my fed-ex guy, the guy must have $20,000/year in claims on his route. I dont know how he still has a job. Luckily everything looked okay.

New studs and nuts all the way around.

I tried to get a picture to show the difference in the welds. The Magnaflow looks to have MUCH thicker welds everywhere, especially where they tend to crack by the manifolds.

The fact that the Magnaflow comes in 2 pieces makes installing a bit easier.

Who says discoverys aren't reliable. Just drove half way across the country pulling a full to the top uhaul trailer. Started in San Jose California, drove south to hit i40 over and up through the Grand Canyon, up to i70, over the Rockies and so far Nebraska. Still have a ways to go, need to land in Ithaca NY. With an ultra gauge and a grey thermostat a Landy can do just about anything. The only problem we have had is almost loosing the hitch ball. Had to use an Allen wrench as a cotter pin

I'll Knock on wood for you. Good luck with the rest of the journey
Finally got around to replacing the front wing liner extension, which some former owner had cut up in order to get to the right-side fog lamp (I’m guessing). Nobody knew that the hole was there, but I knew and it’s been bothering me since I found it a couple of years ago. Once the parts were in hand the whole job took about ten minutes.
I wish they were all that simple.

took out the headliner and front sunroof, assembly, etc. cleaned the bejeepers out of it, re-sealed and replaced. still a small leak somewhere up there. will have to inspect and re-seal as nec. used clear silicone, will recommend black for those looking to do same. pretty straightforward job. a bit meticulous and time consuming, but very do-able.
