You have a connector in that cable?

What kind of connector? Coaxial? Molex or wire splices wont work.

The shield needs to be intact around the inner conductor for the wire to work, not just spliced to the other end of the cable around a break... Just because it has continuity doesn't make it a shield.

I had a crimped cable that threw codes and it did not even look torn, just bent.

Had to replace the whole cable with a good one.

Since you have a "modified" cable, don't rule out the possibility that that fix is not good enough if you fail to come up with other causes for your code.

Gm type, 3 pin.

No splicing. Crimped and soldered.

A 3 pin GM connector does not maintain the shield. By nature it exposes the inner conductor to the much stronger electrical fields in the area.

Replaced the alternator bracket today. Seems belt tensioners are way stronger than the alternator bracket they attach to. Luckily an Indy shop in town had 1 that I scooped up for 40 bones, new tensioner/belt from one of the chain stores (not a bad deal 42.99 for the tensioner). fairly straight forward removal and installation.

On the adgenda for tomorrow: 1. Clean out my AC blower and see if I can get it working again. 2. Install D1 center diff shift lever and linkage... tired of one legging it on the trails. 3. Install CB radio and Firestik antenna, and tune the antenna.

#2 and #3 are unfamiliar to me, and a bit outside my coomfort zone, but I figure I can at least get it put back together the way it started out if I get in over my head... I gotta learn somehow, right?

Rebuilt the top end new heads, headgaskets ect. Been having electrical gremlins causing loss of power, misfire, multiple start attempts to keep it running. Replaced the maf sensor all problems gone.

Today was frustrating. I tried to get my a/c working. Pulled the blower and cleaned it out. There was almost nothing it it other than dust. Made sure it rotated freely. Reassembled it. Checked the fuses. All good. Tested the relay by swapping it with the horn relay. The horn worked, the blower still didn't. It's not the relay. Ran a self-diagnostic on the a/c. No fault codes. Don't know if it's a bad blower motor or an electrical issue.

Moved on to the CDL. Got everything disconnected and my center console removed, then remembered the rivets and the cutout for the lever. Didn't have the tools to handle either task, so I put it back together.

Decided to tackle the CB radio. Tried both of the radios that I have, with several power sources and even more ground locations, and couldn't get either to power on. I decided at that point that there would be no point in installing the antenna for a radio that didn't work, so I packed it in and went home.

Pulled the flairs off, and got a mini detail done. Nice and clean for about 6 minutes.
