Just cause you have a "180 degree" thermo doesn't mean it should run at 180. No car does that.
I don't expect it to run at 180. I'm expecting more "optimal" temperatures given what has been replaced and repaired. I'm expecting 188-195.8.

I hit 194-195 on the highways. But city driving and idle temps are anywhere between 199-212F. AC on or off.

Completed work on the off-road trailer (axleless, coiled spring set up for added bottom clearance). Painted it with the same Alveston Red to match the Disco. First test run to the NW Overland Rally went well!

Fixed my non-opening rear door. Now I think it's time for a wash and spray wax.

Replaced my drivers side mirror. Had some hail the previous week that must have hit the mirror just right. Other than the mirror there was no other damage to the truck.

I Put a Grom bluetooth unit in last week. Did rear pads & rotors yesterday & changed out the leaking steering box this morning.
Had enough for a while.
I have an 04 transfer case & linkage to be put in an 02. I think its too big of a job for me. Any recomnedations on where i might get this done on the Boston area?.
Thanks
Micko

From what I hear it's actually not too big of a job. I've seen some great write-ups on here of how to do it.

2" body lift and 33s.

***Flamesuit on***

I know the bumpers look terrible. Wanted to do the body lift before fabbing bumpers.

Was super easy to do too. I think I have maybe $70 into the entire thing.

Default New Purchase Maintenance & Much More

Finally got to spend some time going through it since purchasing the vehicle over a month ago. Bought it to be my daily driver now that I don't have a company car, so trying to be as thorough as possible with the preventative maintenance.

Replaced, Serviced, or Upgraded the following:
  1. Changed out and treated all fluids according to Disco Mike's Major Service Thread - Big Kudos to him for sharing that knowledge!
  2. All cooling system hoses
  3. Thermostat (Used soft spring style t-stat for Houston weather)
  4. Replaced radiator
  5. Replaced coolant reservoir and cap
  6. Replaced cooling fan
  7. Both rear SLS air bags
  8. Upgraded Tom Woods front drive shaft
  9. Replaced drivers side rear bumper trim piece
  10. Replaced driver's and passenger's front door lock actuators
  11. Fixed rattling/loose a-pillar trim pieces
  12. Serpentine belt
  13. Spark plugs and wires
  14. Valve cover gaskets
  15. Intake manifold gasket
  16. Balanced 4 wheels
  17. 4 wheel alignment
  18. Replaced all 4 O2 sensors
  19. Full exterior & interior wash, wax, and shampoo

Major projects I still have left:
  1. Fix or repair front sunroof motor - I can hear it clicking but it won't open
  2. Clear front and rear sunroof drain tubes
  3. Install new headliner
  4. Replace broken air filter box lid - clips broke - also replace MAF oring while I'm in there
  5. Identify & resolve cause of P1171 & P1174 codes - hoping it is just the broken air box lid - or maybe a leaky intake manifold or valve cover gasket?
  6. Identify & resolve high frequency/low amplitude drivetrain vibration - originates around 70mph and disappears by 80mph
  7. Figure out passenger side mirror - can't get it to adjust to desired angle - i suspect it was replaced with an aftermarket lens that does not have the convex curvature that is needed to get the right angle

Here's a picture of it from the day I got it and another of how it looks now.

Fixed (another) heater hose coolant leak

this time was my fault - i replaced hoses recently and didn't get all melted gunk off heater core side of flange or tube or whatever that's called.

got it this time...

no more leak
