So, have been spending $$$ on the Rover for some time. Been out wheelin' and having a blast. I have just finished changing a broken rear diff, all rotors and pads and upgraded the wheels and tires from 18" 255-55-R18 to 16" 265-65-R16 Now we are ready to go and trail ride again but with better traction

Last thing to do is install the diff guards and Terrafirma Track Rod & Drag Link Assembly Then I am done... I swear

Almost there! AHH Cant wait to get this thing driving! After this, gotta put new tie rod ends, ball joints, fix a leaky transfer case, and check the rear diff. Never ending journey lol

Changed my transmission fluid. I had last serviced the fluid plus filter about 6 years ago, and I changed the fluid in my wife's 99 Accord in about 20 minutes, so I thought might as well do mine.

I had forgotten what a PITA job that was. Laying under the vehicle got about 3 quarts in before it started running out the fill hole. Good thing because my arms were going numb from pumping the fluid. Started it, and cycled through the gears, and crawled back under. Three more quarts, a nice burn on my forearm from the converter, and I had forgotten to turn off the A/C, so I was leaked on the whole time. Still not leaking from the fill port, so another trip to work to get another quart. Maybe the converter will cool while I was gone... Get back (took wife's car), and am able to add maybe 2 pumps from the 7th bottle.

I guarantee when I do this again in another 5 years or so, I will have misplaced the 98% full bottle leftover from today.

At least the fluid I drained was a nice dark red instead of black, or as in my nightmare last night, no fluid at all when I opened the drain plug.

Order you 8 mm wire set from British Parts of Utah, either STI or Magnecor and save.

I've also used a breaker bar against the frame rail using the starter to break it loose.

Finally straightened my steering wheel. Small things can drive me crazyyyyy.

I've got a terrafirma steering bar so if you have stock it is a little different but the same principle. With stock lay under the front of the truck and the front bar (with the shock/steering damper on it) is your steering bar. If memory serves the adjustment is on the passenger side. You will see it because it is different from the bar and is threaded. Turn the assembly one way or the other until your assistant says the steering wheel is straight, tighten it up, and focus on the next problem. Haha. Done.

No need to disconnect the bar on either end.

On the terrafirma bar you loosen the nuts on both ends and turn the whole bar.
