Front passenger window regulator. Put new one in and swapped motor. Now to do the driver door next.

Went to diagnose a small coolant leak I've had using some uv dye. Found a small trail in the front and got excited until I found it lead to the back. Sure enough the coolant passage on the drivers side head gasket has failed. Guess it's time to start buying parts again.

Haven't been online much due to a suddenly very busy work schedule and sick kids at home, combined with "carmageddon" that at its worst saw all 4 of my cars out of commission

Time freed up a bit so i finished off the hood louver mod.

After 2 days of driving with it, under hood temperatures are dramatically reduced. The amount of heat that gets vented is tremendous.

I still need to do the valley pan gasket, manifold gaskets, replace the cat and i'll hopefully get to the inline thermostat mod this coming weekend.

Looks awesome Robert. Is that 1 piece or two side by side to look like 1?

It's a 1 piece louver from runcool WideFlow Powder-Coated Semi-Gloss Black Hi-Flow? - Hood Louvers | RunCool | Hood Vents For Your Vehicle -

The owner is a nice guy, has a D1 and a passion for Chevy engines
So far I've accomplished my primary goal of reducing under hood temps. I had to replace all of the wiring on my dual battery setup due to the wiring getting crisped. It's venting a tremendous amount of heat. I purposefully left the truck out in a rainstorm last night to see if I need to install rain guards. it's a little early but so far water ingress hasn't been an issue.

Here's an under hood shot of how much cutting I had to do. Which reminds me i still need to hit the steel bits i cut with some primer to prevent them rusting on me.

Fantastic as always. My jealousy persists!

On the fence between picking up an LR3 or another Disco. Your posts make me think I should go with a Disco!

I think the main decision between the two is if you need to rely on it as a daily driver. I cycle between two cars now so I can afford "disco downtime" and the resultant pain of waiting on parts.

Woah - those louvers look good, and sound pretty interesting. I'd assume it would do more to help things like wires and hoses and stuff more than anything. Would it help radiator efficiency at all?
