Swapped out the Hurricanes for black, plastidip wheels. I really prefer the look of the bigger tire. Also, I think the noise at highway speeds is gone, or, it is diminished greatly by the huge sidewalls. It drives completely differently now.

How would I test if a front hub is bad?

Just a few more Costco details, Their tech was beaching and mooning about how they hate Rovers there, they hate the lug nuts and they hate that they can't use their lift and instead had to use floor jacks.

He then said that all of my lug nuts were fine. Funny about the lift situation, I was not aware of this limitation. My indy mechanics both have the kind of lift that they drive the whole car onto, not the kind with arms that extend out to the frame. I'm not sure why the Costco lift doesn't work but if that is true I'm glad they didn't try anyway.

Don't go to Costco for tires on your Rover unless you want a direct stock replacement and then make sure if you do that they and you have checked the load rating before proceeding.

Good to know!

I'd have to see the lift, but I am fairly certain it would work if they took time to learn the jacking points on the rover. With shops that rely on mass production for profit, anybody driving anything out of the norm will suffer. And remember those dudes aren't mechanics. When I worked at Sam's Club, we had high school dropouts who had never turned a wrench before mounting tires.

Some of the lifts where you driver over a platform and the lift comes up under the chassis between the axles won't fit a Discovery. 100" wheelbase with 29" tall tires means that the platform needs to be less than about 70" long or it will hit the tires.

Ok, I hadn't seen that before, but it's been a long time since I was a mechanic.

I got my two front tires re-sealed. Developed slow leaks for some reason.

Ac condenser fan crapped out and decided to become part of the ac condenser!!! Fun joy! No. On top of that I blew a line on my radiator so while replacing the line I thought it would be cool to snap the neck off while doing so!!! So now I'm in the market to get a ac con fan, ac con, and radiator. Anyone that has a parts truck in north Texas willing to sell me there parts it would be much appreciated!

All the tabs on the back of the passenger side rear seat panel were broken off. Pulled the broken tabs out, glued them onto the rear seat panel with pvc cement and after it cured, reinstalled the panel.

Replaced spark plugs, changed oil and filter, replaced SAI pump filter (with lawn mower filter), washed it, and removed the rusty brush guard.
