Default Throttle Heater Plate Replacement

When I did mine, the incoming coolant hose from the engine to the left port of the heater plate, had a split and the coolant vulcanized the hose to the port.

If this happens, make sure that if you have to cut the hose like I did, cut it just after the connection. There is not much extra hose to play with.

New tires on the truck, Cooper Discoverer AT/3 LT245/75R16. The spare just grazes the rear bumper, ha! New water pump and transmission filter (along with new fluid) done by the shop in preparation for a trip to Canada.

Armour All does a decent job on the plastic. The peanut oil may go rancid, but hey, if it works, go for it.

My secret is using Scrubbing Bubbles Lemon Scent

It gets rid of the grease and the lemon oil conditions the plastic. I swear buy it and it makes your engine bay smell lemony fresh.

Pledge works good for cleaning and shining too.
And Any type of cooking or engine oil will make faded black plastic look like new, and usually lasts for a couple of rains.

Have not tried any of those oils but, would be concerned they would attract dust.

Oh...the Scrubbing bubbles lemon scent will cut through the grease and oil. When you spray it off, the engine looks fantastic. Plus...it is only $5 bucks at the grocery store.

DOT 5 brake fluid works well too, and doesn't get sticky or hold dirt.
Not any other DOT. Not 3, not 4, not 3/4, not 5.1. Only DOT 5. It's the silicone based one.
