Roof rack or spare tire. Anywhere but there. That seems like an accident waiting to happen.
I'd prefer spare tire mount. I'm looking into making a mount, but this was quick and easy just to see. I won't leave it in all the time anyway. It would only get mounted when going offroadingo and may need it.
I also replaced my PS pump last night which fixed one leak. Looks like I'll be doing the front cover next.
Today I replaced the B2 catalytic converter. It was half gone and partially melted. Sounds so much better now!
Starting the roof rack fabrication this week snow that I have all the metal needed completed. So excited to get that done!
Greased the drive shafts today -- i'm starting to get a vibration around 55mph, hoping this will cure it. If not, then time for a (probably) front shaft rebuild
My father in law has had a couple Saabs, and still has a 93 turbo 4 cylinder convertable.
Fun car to drive, but always has electrical gremlins, as did the ones he had before it.
But I know what you mean, if you like it, and don't mind working on it.
Did I mention my D2 is still yard art? lmao!
I'm originally a SAAB guy. That one in my garage is my son in laws, if it were mine, it's be running
I have a 1989 true pre-GM SAAB red turbo convertible and a 2001 9-5 with an upgraded turbo and stage 1 tune that I drive on longer trips. I love blowing the doors off much newer cars. GM killed SAAB that's for sure.
Working to get the donor engine installed. Noticed a broken bolt in the intake manifold, I can see it down the hole - no problem. The thing didn't want to separate - great silicone. Once apart, what the heck is that?
For the love . . . . PEOPLE! . . . . WHY?
Then there's this: that bolt isn't even trying to match the threads of the hole it's going into. Yeah, just ram it in there anyway. who cares.
Finally got it done and drove it to the store. No ticking, no overheating, and my Golden Retriever is ecstatic. . He loves the Disco. The day I pulled it back into the garage to put the new motor in he came through the door and started hopping up and down and growl talking.. I had to open the door and let him sit inside while I worked.
