Never thought of that. And it will be tougher on debris. I will do that. Thanks.

I've ran several tanks of gas through the old girl of late... since adding rack...and she's been 14.2 mpg on the money each time.

Picture, because she deserves a glory shot.

It's kind of weird, she got the same mileage with the four loaded storage containers on the roof and loaded inside as well, during a camping trip a few weeks ago. Granted, I filled and refilled after wheeling in the woods...this would have thrown off things.

Brian.

After I rebuilt the 4.6 motor with new bearings and Crower performance cam, installed the Hayden fan clutch, switched to 10W40 oil from 20w50, and solved my O2 wiring ground problem, I'm now getting 15.1 MPG in my Disco 2!

Just outstanding. Dang near doubled my gas mileage from before.

Installed my new cam/lifters today. Broke it in this evening. I'll change my oil in the morning and see how it went. Fingers crossed.

I got the same cam, and just have to reassemble my engine.
I got 13.2 mpg driving mine home 6 hrs at 70-80mph.
So I'm hopeful it'll go up.

At least the rear ladder doesn't impact the mileage

Just got back from Europa late last night.. Picking up my cleaned up heads from the machine shop in a little bit, then hitting Harbor Freight from some swivel sockets and a torque wrench. Supposed to snow / rain today so we'll see what i actually get done. At least i can do the injector o-rings inside and cleaning of valve covers etc.
