What did you do with your DII today?
It's hard, if not impossible to get a sleeve wall thickness measurement of the sleeve while it's in the block.
However, they are thin.
.020" bigger is technically a -.010" thinner wall, about 2 1/2 sheets of paper thick, so not much.
But, it is substantial.
If they are boring them that much, I hope it has been done several times before...and not caused heating issues.
Aluminum disapates heat much faster than steel,
so the heat the block absorbs goes away faster than in an iron block.

He's gonna hone it out vs. boring. I'll know by the end of June. That's my ETA for having all the parts bought and reassembled.
I feel pretty good about it. Rimmer Bros wouldn't be selling a 0.20 piston if somebody wasn't having success. Might as well be me..
More info. Looks like the rover 3.9 has the same bore, so in theory the rings could work. Yes? Assuming they're the same thickness I guess. If those would work, you can get 3.9 rings for less than $60 per set.
It's too bad you can't just order both, and easily return the one you don't use.
Finally done!!
For those that would ask, yes it is doable. Some work, some headache dealing with the chinese customer service (useless) but definitely doable.
All stock harnesses intact but a small splice in the LH bumper reverse light wiring. Radio, navigation, bluetooth, backup camera and all radio features working even steering wheel controls.
Plus - installed an additional microcontroller with a LCD and sensors to get outside temperature, humidity, pressure and altitude. Useful when you drive around the rockies!
Happy to share the details for those interested to go down this road!

Oh, I would absolutely love more details of this mod! Thanks man, looks amazing. Oh, and btw, never thought of installing a USB port like you did, I'm going to have to do that as well!!
Thanks for all your hard work and sharing!
Replaced the drivers door actuator, not bad. took me two hours, going slow and making a couple mistakes. Need to do the rear passenger one now. If anyone has a line on one let me know.
