I only tinkered with my LR's last weekend and a little this weekend after I bought myself a Nanocom diagnostic tool/Programmer. I installed an 03-04 Gauge Cluster into my 02 Kalahari and was able to SYNC the proud 235K over to the 03-04 Cluster which came from a D2 with only 79K on it. I then enabled the Factory Fog Lights on my 04 S Model (all D2's come with the Fog Light wiring it's just not enabled on S models), and today I finished wiring up my Pro Comp 9inch Aux lights on the ARB Bumper and I also made them be on no matter what beam is selected Hi/Lo. I also made a few other changes to the BCU's on all 3 of my D2's
which Nanocom do you have? That's a lot of stuff getting done.
I put my arb bumper on, and added a Yakima roof rack along with Thule bars and a surfboard rack, side by side. Looks pretty cool.
I will add the ladder and the auxiliary lights soon. One thing to note with the arb bull bar is it overloads the system and makes the electrical go hay wire. I need to install led lights instead to solve this issue, I was told?
I have been noticing that my bolts on the inspection plate of the transfer case have been weeping fluid. Will likely drain, clean all surfaces, RTV and re-bolt with thread lock, and add new fluid. So from your description, there was only 1 bolt that created problems? Anything else I need to know? Thanks in advance.
Lubed up the drive shafts and changed the oil in the D2. Next stop, Transmission fluid and filter change.
I also have an oil (not sure which oil) leak under it. I am not losing much motor oil. Less than a quart added over 5k miles. The oil is dark and not real sulfur smelling. Oil is on the oil pan and transmission. Not much is leaking but enough for me to notice. I need to give it a good cleaning and find out where its coming from. One problem/repair at a time...
I drained and filled my transfer case oil with Royal Purple 75w/140. And I'm happy to mention no metal particles were on the magnet! I also finally replaced both of my windscreen washer pumps. The previous owner JB welded a screw into the rear pump's hose connection (it was broken off) and the pump for the front was dying.
I used the Nanocom to actually disable the front headlight washer pump! Two of my D2’s have aftermarket bumpers (one TF & one ARB) and I just unplugged it and blocked the lines off, but now it’s disabled for good. I had some D1 headlight washers for the D1 ARB bumper, but the inline check valve was INOP and I wasn’t going to buy one for 50.00. If I come across one at a junk yard fine, but I REALLY am enjoying the Nanacom Evo! I stuck my iCarsoft LRII scanner in my LR3 as it is better suited for it & I bought a 10.00 waterproof box to store my Nanocom Evo in & it is now always in whichever D2 I’m in.
