What did you do with your DII today?

Wasn't my Disco, but when wheeling a couple days ago with a buddy in his Disco. I took Lazarus (the Dodge revived after 15 years sitting in a field).
Got stuck in the first big mud hole. I'd never been on this trail before. We yanked for an hour and finally got me out.
Planning to go try again in a week or two hopefully. I need to do some engine work before then. Head gaskets, new rings probably, and new Jets/power valve in the carb.
Anyway, this is a land rover sub and I'm getting side tracked. The stock 04 performed valiantly jerking out the beast. Really makes me miss mine. I gotta find a donor vehicle for an engine/trans for it.

Had a crank no start..........
Did usual diagnosis......spark good...gas gauge reads 1/4 tank....fuel pump new with about 1k miles on it;
Jumped fuel pump relay...pump coming on...
no fuel in vehicle....sending unit innacurate..
Its a DELPHI pump from Autozone with a lifetime warranty, so had them order one....uggghhhhhhhh..
I was so mad...lol

Man, everyone is busy lately! Love to hear it! Last week I installed HD steering links and a newish Great Basin Rovers front drive shaft that I got off of my parts truck (about paid for itself with just those parts). ..Just got done flushing coolant, replaced hoses, fan clutch, new ss braided oil pressure line (my last nylon line broke off and sprayed oil everywhere, had to fix it on the road), refilled with Zerex G05. Going through my list hoping to be able to make it to ROTR this year..

Well HCRR 2018 was awesome! Saw many old friends, and made plenty of new friends. Weather ended up being perfect Friday & Saturday with the only rain shower being late on Saturday evening (only lasted like 15min).
The staff at the event were great, food, sponsors, and the trails were also awesome. I got there early on Friday morning and helped the staff setup for the event & then we went out to scout the trails. Ended up doing some level 3, 4, and one 5 trail. The ratings really didn’t mean anything as the rain, and wear n tear on some trails could turn a 2 into a 5, or a 5 into a 3, it just depended on the terrain.
I took my Kalahari which is actually my lowest sitting D2, but it did fantastic! People can make fun of a D2 all they want, but with HDC, CDL, and the manual mode for the transmission in Low Range it’ll go anywhere. I knew my D2’s Jlo butt was going to be my weak spot so I babied it down some drop off’s. I ended up loosing both rear lower plastic trim pieces & it wasn’t due to smashing them! One cracked from sitting to close to the rear metal bumper, and one just broke from old age and vibration. I’m going to just make a line from under the rear fender flare and cut all the way back (including the side of the bumper).
Truly a great time & I’ll post all the action shots once their posted up on their event page.
