I know eh?! I sure hope I can have a shop that nice one day. That’s my oldest friend since grade school. He has a great shop there, on 40 acres with a big pond, bush, trails, and an awesome new house.
He doesn't really use his shop like I would. He will fix stuff when it breaks but mostly just uses it for storage. I wired it and did all the lights for him. It might look like over kill but is really nice to work in. Even heated😊.
The belt was way overdue so I swapped it out. I prefer to do preventative maintenance & as I just picked up this puppy “2000 Disco”.
I only took off the cover underneath the coolant hose & the guard above where the ACS would be, didn’t bother to take the fam out.
Tools used: 10mm & 15 mm sockets, a breaker bar, a #3 screwdriver, a flashlight, a metal coat hanger & a 20” Dowel. Oh ya haha a tablet open to a page with the routing diagram to make sure I wouldn’t have to slap myself up side the head.
Took about 15 minuets & a hillbilly beer to get-er-done. Everything used to complete maintenance If you’re belt looks like this, what are you waiting for, $30 +- to prevent what could lead to a extremely inconvenient breakdown & possibly overheating leading to quite expensive repairs.
This is a couple days old but....I found out the depth of snow that Tricky Dick gets high centered. 2 feet 6 inches. Spent two hours digging out, tried using the 8,000 lb come along and found out that it is not strong enough to pulled my truck in conditions like this. Time for the Badlands winch.
Well after continuing to have my *** kicked by misfire issue in the 03, I decided to end the weekend with a few wins. So I replaced the instrument cluster cowl with an unbroken one that I picked up and I cleaned some junk out the HVAC fan that was causing it to vibrate at higher speeds. Smooth as silk now.
Installed whats probably going to be the most used mod on the truck. Way more excited for this than I should be.... Shelf courtesy of a friend in the UK who helped me get it across the pond efficiently from Flat Dog UK

Drove the LR to Kentucky to pick up my "new to me" home on wheels. Going full time RV life in about 5 yrs. The LR will be my TOAD so we can really get out into the wildernesses of the western US.
