Right so finally took the pics. Got both heads done now. Just waiting for the cam and lifters to arrive and Ill put it back together.
Nice! I’m looking into buying a “mechanics special” 2001 Disco 2 but the seller says it does not run and needs new heads. If ya don’t mind me asking about how much money will you have invested in repairing the heads? Trying to calculate if it’s worth it. Thanks in advance!
Took her out for some trail riding today had a Sanddune nearby.
Thank you, for posting some pictures of a white build. Can't seem to find the ambition to start mine. It's like the old gray one sucked the life out of me...lol.
Actually, was looking at an old series last night 1967-109. Maybe it's time to do something different.
Took delivery of my new project yesterday and since I wasn’t able to push it in my garage I figured I’d get it cleaned up since it had been sitting under a pine tree for 8 months or so.
changed the oil in the transfer case, since that's the one fluid i haven't refreshed since i got this truck. what came out was very black, smelled horrible, and definitely not 80 or 90 weight.
fill plug and drain plug came out without any hassle at all. "this will be all done in ten minutes!" i thought to myself.
until the plastic spigot on the end of the filler pump fell off the end of the hose. inside the t-case.
meaning that i had to remove the side panel to get it out.
so i also discovered that it's a pretty simple matter to remove that panel without having to remove the chassis crossmember or the exhaust.
and that the t-case is much quieter when you put the proper oil in it.
