I have the same question as @Dave03S. What "maintenance" item was neglected that caused 4/8 cylinders to sieze? Rover V8's aren't the pinnacle of reliability but I bet you could push one tens of thousands of miles without an oil change and still not seize the motor...
Disco II to a paddock because my sister seized 4 out of 8 cylinders driving to "surprise" me at the airport!! Actually not at all totally on her. On me for not having family get maintenance done while I was away in lock downs and so on - COVID circumstances. Sad day though.
I will buy Japanese next time.
If you want help, we want to help. Also know, that your first post on the board is complaining about the truck and you don't provide any information. That is very troll-like behavior.
If you "murrayonshore" see this, I totally expect you to respond with a half *** description of the problem and how Land Rovers are garbage blah blah. But if you prove me wrong...then you are actually not a troll and simply made poor judgement on what your first post should be.
If you can't turn a wrench or you don't have the pockets to pay, you DEFINITELY need to buy a Japanese vehicle. Otherwise SUCK IT UP and FIX THE DAMN THING. We will help

Reason: was too harsh
Camping Trip Big Sur. Tens of miles of forest roads with amazing views. Some parts are very steep and have a thick layer of dust. The traction control triggered all the time, but the Land Rover took it with ease. There is a lot of off-road potential, but unfortunately it got all gated or blocked.

how do you seize four out of eight cylinders?
i'm still learning when it comes to these engines and the internal combustion engine in general. but i can't see how this is realistically possible.
@jastutte it is technically possible - if you run for quite some time with no oil or the timing chain breaks, but 4 out of 8 would be odd and how would you know. Once one piston stops moving your engine tends to go bang and stops. Nothing special about a rover v8 any engine starved of oil will suffer the same fate.
Unless english is a second language and he has a blown head gasket on 1 side that is possible.
