Because all the rings and bores are Not the same size.
There is a tolerence range, and variation between each piston, ring, and cylinder.
Which is exactly why you have to file ring gaps, and why they are supposed to be made with a gap that is in the tolerance range, or smaller, which can be filed to a larger and in spec end gap.

RTE 3" springs with TF +3" adjustable shocks, so roughly 11" of shock travel per side. Relocation cones and spring retainers. This weekend I plan on throwing 1" spacers back in the rear just to level things out a little more. I plan on picking up a RTE extended watts linkage this spring hopefully. Oh and no sway bar and extended brake lines. The tire will tuck up inside fender, pic for reference on old worn out springs.

After about six weeks of hearing what I thought was an exhaust leak, then thinking it was a slipped sleeve, was actually an exhaust leak after all. For some reason the three bolts that connects the manifold to the exhaust pipes on each side (before the catalytic converters) were a bit loose. After spending about 15 minutes tightening the bolts up, it now sounds perfect.

Took my 03 with 248,000 miles on a 500 mile round trip on Saturday up to the smokies to see some snow. There was about a foot of snow in some of the shadier spots and by far the most snow I’ve ever seen. I was amazed at how well the truck did going up the mountain considering it has a tendency to be sluggish in some situations.
