Took the Discovery to a gas station in OR. Idiot did not close the tank cap correctly, caused me a P0455. Always check your tank cap when traveling in OR.
Always check the cap tightness when fueling anywhere. Most pump jockeys here in Oregon will twist until they hear several clicks, but some are lazy. The trick is to not sit in the car while they do all the work. The state fire marshal says we mere peons can't pump gas, but we can stand there with our masks on making sure they darn well do it all well.
Sometimes it's the little things that make you happy like replacement of the broken button on your disco. My beloved ride becoming more and more mint every month piece by piece. Next up , drive shafts, home made heat shield to protect shafts, Fuel pump replacement again, injectors, paint chip repair. Eventually headliner and maybe seat fakeleather lol. The list goes on

Wow, that is crazy that you still can't pump your own gas.
I replaced both front O2 sensors and the coolant temp sensor.
My first attempt at the coolant temp sensor, I didn't use thread sealant and it was leaking coolant. Also I removed the alternator and the AC compressor to make sure I could torque it down all the way.
When I replaced the O2 sensors, I got anti-seize on the sensor part of the O2 sensor and it smoked like crazy. I took it off and cleaned it up and it stopped smoking.
Neither of these things helped a rough idle that I have been trying to chase for a while. Next I am smoke testing the exhaust system, if that doesn't work: plugs, wires, coil packs, fuel pump, SAI crap . In the order.
In Medford, Portland or Bend it was full service only. One even shouted at me when I tried to get out of the car. At another gas station the pump jockey took at smoking break outside after he was done with me. I felt like in a bad movie.

I p*ssed off a bunch of now homeless spiders today. I used my portable leaf blower to blow off all the little critters, leaves and dust on and under Myrtle as she sits for another month while getting my V8 engine and wiring sorted.
The drive home Stock is so little compared to the white one Paint needs some help
157k miles, oil change, new plugs, wires and coils and she runs like a top. Have an in-line t stat kit from extinct ready to go in, just need to finish working on another vehicle before throwing it in. Playing the waiting game for a hood and driver side doors to pop up in a junkyard or a breaker near me. Thinking of painting the roof cream. A thread last week about the heritage colors got me thinking. It’s the wife’s new toy so she seems to like the two tone idea.
Paint here in Denver is super inflated due to hail damage so going to try and do the roof ourselves.
