Ah I don't miss the NOVA days, I grew up in Oakton and my brother still lives in Alexandria. Gorgeous area with lots of access but just too many people for me haha commuting to the Navy Yard and Quantico was a losing battle with no good option to live to make mine or my wife's commute not suck.
On a Rover note: Took a trip up to Steamboat Springs for the weekend and once again the disco ran like a champ and puts up with us beating up on her and just keeps chugging along.
My CTEK MXS 7.0 Battery Charger/Conditioner finally arrived today from Tayna Batteries UK.
Due to our 240VAC outlets here, I got tired of running up my electricity bill from using my 120VAC Schumacher battery conditioner with a step down 1000W transformer.
Had a couple misfire codes on my wife's 03, #1 - #6, both on same coil pack. So, off came the upper intake...and the SAI ex. manifold tubes, stainless steel tubes and pump from firewall (for good...good riddens!)...coil pack and wires changed from a disassembled past Dll...reassembled...cleared prior codes...quick test drive. Ran perfect...stick a fork in it.
My wife was very pleased to have her baby back...so, maybe this would be a good time to bring up a roof top tent for the 110...lol.
Just noticed...we're on page 777...maybe that had something with everything going smoothly today.
I did away with my SAI ports and crossover tubes about a year ago as well. I just tapped the head plugs and fastened in some grade 8 bolts to seal em up. Occaisonally I get the SAI faults and I just clear em and keep going 😁
Finally got around to finishing up a new water pump, radiator and inline thermostat install on the 01 Disco.
Basically was in a knock down drag out with the disco for about 6 hours, still not sure who won.
Planned to do it in 2.5 hours max, blah.
Whoever did the last radiator broke stripped and "fixed" every part along the way, so that was fun to correct as i went along.
Discovered the hose coming off the water pump bulging bad on the back side where i couldn't see before teardown. Guess that's next on the list.
Coolant hose for air intake & new line heat shield
Worked on the air intake coolant hose it was brittle from years of being baked over a hot engine. Also zip ties the maf to the air box with slight modification. Drill through the existing clip hole all the way through to slide s zip tie through securely , who needs metal clips. Zip tie everything! Heat shield upgrade. LoL 🤣
Drove the green (stock) disco the 55 miles to work today and it was fantastic, such a contrast to driving the massive white one. However I noticed the speedometer essentially quit registering speeds accurately above 60mph. Per my phone it is spot on up to 60 then it slows to a creep as the speed continues to increase....I guess the cluster is bad or on its way out. Oh well it will be just fine as is for a little while.
My wife surprised me with a Viofo A129 Pro Duo Ultra HD Dash camera. I’ve been wanting one of these since our last traffic scam incident last year in Ipswich, England. The driver in a gray Ford Escort pulled in front of my car, immediately hit the brakes (With no one in front of him), put their car into reverse and bumped into the front of my car. Three migrants (?) immediately jumped out and said In very bad broken English we rear ended them. I pointed to my windscreen and lied saying I have the whole crash recorded. They immediately jumped back into their car and sped off but luckily I remembered their plate number which turned out not belonging to the car.

Be careful out there....
nice. I’ve been thinking about picking one up. Are you going to hardwire it in?
Long overdue oil change. Tightened y pipe to manifold leak ( a bit over 1.5 full turns, wtf ). Earlier this week when coming out of the gas station, I noticed a pisser in front of the front driver wheel. I thought it may of been the plastic coolant pipe I snapped when changing the ps pump and line. Turns out door some reason the washer bottle hose popped off . Put back on and added zip strip. All good now
