Helped my friend Ken from Austin Roverworks move his dad's 30ft camper from Crystal Beach, TX. He went down to move it in his LR3, but he left the special hitch at the office! I drove down in my 99 D2 and towed that HUGE camper 40 miles up to Winnie, TX. It was a 50MPH trip, but Old Faithful once again saved the day. The camper needed to be moved due to the new storm in the gulf Beta.

 

I got my head light/high beams/ interior/cluster light installed. Waiting for this weekend to finish and install the Radio/ham Radio then the interior and passenger seat and drive.... Slow is Smooth and Smooth is Fast........
I still need to find a good set of 18 inch solid rims....... Any hits?

That's one big wheel on the back, it looks like it obscures all the rearview, I would be thinking of installing a rear view camera and mini TV on the internal mirror to see what's behind me, I have one in my motorhome, that's RV to you I think in Texas, never made it to Austin, but enjoyed The Alamo

There is some kind of potion that you put in the reservoir that reacts when there is CO2 present.

 

where are you? I have a set of 5 hurricanes, 18" in NJ.

Today’s plan:
Replace rotoflex
Torque oil pan bolts from last weekend gasket fun
1 hour time budget.


Real life:
Oil pan bolts torqued
Noticed new front prop shaft is grazing the cat.

Found two culprits - stretched bolt on flange front side big muffler and a busted transmission mount. Ordered new mounts.

Dropped exhaust.
Found hole punched in pipe by bolt near rear diff.

Decided to burn the day - wire brushed all under carriage areas.

Cleaned. Rust reformed. (5 cans). Sigh.

Removed sway bar.
Cleaned and painted sway bar and brackets.
Replaced rear sway bar links.

reinstalled exhaust doing awkward 8 foot arm stretch, bungee cord, jack and wire.

Started to do pcv mod. Opened package. Wrong part sent. Put hose back in intake. Screamed into the woods.

started to solder in new abs front sensor (PO had done the long wire to ecu bypass. Couldn’t find soldering iron. Dog had taken it as a chew toy into water. Soldering iron wouldn’t heat.

closed hood.

crawled to sofa to have Netflix solve me.

10.5 hours actual time spent.

 

Installed new rotors, brake pads, and new caliper pins on all the wheels. Took a wire brush to clean build up on the calipers and re-greased everything. I had two stuck rotor set screws in the front wheels so instead of forcing them out with a Philips and risking stripping it I sprayed it with penetrating spray and after waiting about 15 minutes I got my cordless Dewalt drill with a big Philips bit and instead of setting the drill on full power drill mode, I turned the torque/power down to about 9 (it goes from 1-15, then drill mode) and it worked sort of like an impact driver. I let it rip for about 15 seconds and it came right out with no stripping. Now for the bad news, I just noticed a small drip of oil peaking out of one bolt from the front engine cover (I just had an AB engine installed around 1,800 miles/one month ago). Hopefully its just a bolt that needs to be torqued down more but I'll take it to the shop that worked on it to see what they think. I guess oil leaks are inevitable no matter what you do!
