Yeah I used to buy from a vendor named Parts Player. They had really good quality starters and alternators. Not sure if they're still around or not. The one which costed me 65.00 after rebates/discount from Advance Auto Parts looked like a really nice unit however it was DOA. When I took it back the guy was like oh no problem and I quickly got my $$ back. The only bad part was I had given them a slow cranking D1 unit as a core and I had no way to get it back... At least it cranked vs the unit I got to replace it!! Ended up finding a good spare in my shop which I honestly had forgot about, but I guess 65.00 was just to good to be true. I've had good luck with Auto Zone/Oreilly's rebuilt starters.

I posted that video a while back of a loud pop when I was attempting to get a wheel up on a rock on the trail. I'm thinking I finally figured out what I broke. A couple days ago we were playing around on my folks property and found that the CDL isn't locking in. Looking like I'll have to pull the snout off the transfer case and see what we're looking at. Dang!

I feel your pain Deputy, I've just been racking up the miles on the white one after the hg and cam job. Green one is still torn apart for the same hg and cam job, been busy on the house remodel and haven't had any time/energy to finish that job but hope to have it running by this weekend!

How is that different from the switch on the transfer case that tells the ECU what range it's in?
