I noticed recently that my Disco had a weird wobble at low speed, at 10 miles an hour or so I could literally see the front of the car wiggling when looking at the road just past it. There was also a definite rumble at 30-40mph so I suspected a wheel was bent or balance was out.

Took it to Pep Boys as the car came with Definity Dakota tires from there with a road hazard warranty and lifetime balancing (I think Cooper makes these tires for Pep Boys). He no sooner had the rear right tire on the balancer and noticed an inner steel belt had pulled loose. The tire looked a blob of wiggling jello when he spun it around.

The good news is that when prorated I got a new tire for $80. And I have been considering the Falken Rocky Mountain ATS tires as I will need new tires all around in 5000 miles or so, they have a better tred than mine and the price point is in my budget. The good part is that my spare is an old Michelin MS tire and the side walls are dry rotting making it pretty useless. So now when I get new tires in a few months the new Dakota will just become a spare and I should be covered. I had wanted to avoid having to spend a lot on a tire I might only rarely use. And it's also good that I didn't have a blowout on the freeway with the bad tire!

That must of been one hell of a rock to crush your ladder and undercarriage. Did you roll the damn thing?

It was a 4 day event, the ladder and rear brake light were DEFINITELY my fault, I should have winched earlier. Here are some photos of what we went through. Last two photos from Lucky8's page, we went up that river a couple hours later in a down pour and the river was flowing hard.
