What did you do with your DII today?

2001 LE model. it has 117,326 miles on it. apparently has a unique interior according to the Facebook people. Need to address the 3 amigos, a cat converter heat shield rattle and rear blinker housings. It does have some aftermarket eBay steel bumpers that have been Raptor coated and an aftermarket Boss carplay stereo with a floating 9 inch screen. Other than that, the engine is super clean. The radiator and hoses look new-ish. The plug wires look newer. There was a previous owner out there that really loved this truck. The guy I bought it from only had it since January and did nothing with it except let it sit. I will let my daughter have it in November when she gets her license but until then, its something to tinker on.

Not quite a D2.... But did pick up another Disco today. '98 model. Allegedly ran when parked, but I got it for scrap. Hopefully doesn't take too much to get running. Frame is in good shape, but the interior is going to take some real cleaning.
Anyone have any recommendations on getting the hood open? Broken hood latch release.
Edit: I had just enough clearance to reach up from underneath and release the hood latch.

Suggestion: Sell the wheels to someone who will appreciate them. Get some basic wheels from anyone in place of those. Someone will trade with you. Pocket the profit for future repairs or daughter expenses.

Did what I believe is one of the most important mods to the DII ... Extinct's inline T-stat upgrade (yes, it is absolutely an upgrade but more like a necessity). After doing the head gasket on this truck, I don't want to ever have to do it again. This thing I am confident will help with that. I bought the kit with the rubber gasket and it was a pretty easy install. The worst part is draining out the coolant but that's Rover's fault.
Cut the hose that goes on top of the fan shroud back a little so everything fit. I also used hose Gates 22073 to go from the radiator outlet to the water pump Y inlet. Wanted to get a new hose in anyway. I recommend that if your hoses are old. Then you also don't have to splice the hose.
For those guys above who just bought D2s ... do this mod. Check out the sticky on the D2 home page here for the Inline T-stat thread. Thanks Extinct!
I took the car on the highway with my partner and used my code reader to monitor temperature. Went up to 183 before it started to go back down to about 160. Never crossed 183 again.

Seconded.... I've got a set of wheels i'd definitely trade, and a little cash or parts to boot.
