she has 138k. Just had a crankshaft position sensor go bad. Shut off completely at 45 mph.

I know the CKPS can blink out at any time, but at least the one in my truck was thoughtful enough to do so while I was stopped at a stoplight (a hundred miles from home with six boy scouts in the truck on the way back from a weekend trip).

The idea of it failing while rolling is scary. Having it happen at 45 mph is one thing; having it happen at highway speed in heavy traffic would be something else entirely. You can still steer and you can still brake, but with a lot more effort (suddenly). Hopefully you can get to the shoulder, but if you were going uphill in traffic that might be difficult. Lots for the brain to process simultaneously.

Installed new tires and took her for some snow testing.
265/60/18 Discoverer Rugged Treks
Wheels are freshly powder coated, and I put on black all-steel lug nuts.
Spare fits without rubbing
Tires are awesome. Quiet and smooth on road and great on snow.

Where did you find the black steel lugs?

I'm a bit surprised they painted the entire nut.

Isn't that a not-so-great idea? I've used anodized black lug nuts before, but that's not a coating.

Also, the seat looks short compared to stock dimensions, but that could just be the photo.

Truck does look good.

Finally got my windshield cowl and installed it. Replaced the washers on the wiper arm attachment with stainless steel washers (5/8"). Clips from the old one to secure the foam filter, so hopefully it doesn't get pushed out anymore.

Besides I did my 30k miles service: diffs, TC, transmission fluid changes.

Trailmix, do you have RR or LR3 wheels? I ordered a set to try but Amazon says the Eisen Performance ESN 1415 lug nuts are not compatible with D2.

I'm doing mine right now. Pulled the hood off so I can do blackout vinyl at the same time.
I didn't have a plan for the big metal washers. The exposed side had quite the "patina." Got lucky as the underside still had a nice coat of black paint. If I wasn't already in the job, I'd go with the stainless washers, for sure.

I've had "20 RR wheels and 18" Discovery Hurricanes held on with steel RR nuts. These black Eisen nuts fit great and in the pics a few threads earlier, they're on 18" black Hurricanes.
