Replaced the brake booster and ABS block with refurbed ones that I took from my parts truck (with Option B done, of course) and installed a new master cylinder. Good strong fluid flow at last!
Just have to bleed at the wheels and I can be back on the road.

Default Light bulb

I thought this was interesting. A brake light bulb was out, looks like this. Never seen this before.

Default Got her stuck! Anyone selling a bumper and winch?

$600 later makes a winch a smart investment!

HAPPY 2024 EVERYONE!

This wasn't today, but back in July, with help from Extinct, I installed a front big brake it on my D2. Prior to installing the kit we did some testing, and my truck was taking 212 feet from 60 MPH to come to a stop (your numbers will vary). Pretty bad by today's standards, but the real motivation for me was to fend off heat induced fade when up in the mountains.

So I bought this kit from England: https://lofclutches.com/shop/brakes/...ake-kit-330mm/

All went well, with the exception of my Comet rims which would hit the calipers, so I had to trade Extinct for some sport rims that would clear the calipers. After about 500 miles of use I redid the break test. My best 60-0 was 170 feet, a 20% improvement! Well worth the $1,300 investment.

Here's some pictures of the kit:

Thanks Tim. Nice to see an actual graph with real numbers, not just “it feels like it stops way better “.

A 212ft. brake distance from 60mph to 0 is pretty horrendous, even back then. Motorweek tested a MY99 D2 at 125ft when these were first coming out. There must be something wrong with your brakes or testing if your brake distance was that lengthy.

(Brake test begins at 3:19)

45 grand wow in 1999 money. And I live in Canada so that's even more in Canadian currency. I must admit having a factory warranty on one of these sounds like a dream

I think you missed where I said "(your numbers will vary)" Unlike the Motor Week test 24 years ago, my truck has a 2" lift, larger AT tires, and lots of heavy off-road gear. Maybe you should test yours and post the results, for science sake. I used the iPhone app "iAccel" to record these results.
