Nakatanenga Ventilation Panels Side Windows - Land Rover Discovery 1/2/3/4
https://www.nakatanenga.de/en/option...covery-1/2/3/4I bought them in Europe when I was there last year. There was an offer on ebay (US), but I can't find them anymore.
I should have taken a photo, but I am getting ready to adjust the alignment, it is slightly off. The nuts and adjuster are frozen, I figured rather than buy a new one out of the gate I would try to break the rust. Heat did not work. I soaked a shop towel in brake fluid and wrapped it around the threaded parts and cut a 1 liter bottle to wrap around the towel and zip tied it all together. I hope once it attempt the adjustment things will be free enough that I can get them adjusted. It is barely out of alignment, so hopefully a quarter turn or so gets it done.
Started head gasket job this morning. I saved the worst for last, the exhaust haha. Wish me luck!
Just ordered an Ashcroft CDL shifter, hoping it gets here in time (my own fault for waiting so long to order!)
While I'm deep in here I am also going to replace the power steering components that keep peeing all over my driveway as well as oil pan gasket and transmission pan gasket... Also continuing to chip away at disco mikes to do list for new owners of old discoverys

I received a D1 tranny pan from Will Tillery in great condition. I already had the D1 dipstick and tube I got from a Pull-a-part in Atlanta.
Bought a disco 2. Lots of broken stuff. Rusted window regulators in Arizona lol. Going to try and plastic weld body panels to save some dough. Subs are missing and so is all of the air suspension. Going to try and restore it all. Had a 4” terra lift. Way too tall for me.
Still waiting on these head bolts.
(My daily driver Routan has been warning me that the transmission is on its way out, and I will not be repairing it. It's been a great vehicle for 12 years but not worth investing in to me. My kids are out of car seats so I'm leaving minivan life behind me.)
So more pressure to get the d2 in good shape!
While waiting for the head bolts I cleaned all surfaces and dunked all the parts I could into the new ultrasonic washer. I'm still just using purple degreaser and in between dunks using a small pick and scraper to get off the chunks of crud. Inside the heads (under valve cover) wasn't too chunky.
Next I might take off the oil and transmission pans and get them cleaned.
Or get the brake hoses installed and relube anything on calipers and grease front end while wheels are off.
