What O2s came installed in the DII, what've you used and what's been your experience?
I installed some Pro-Lines (Rovers North house brand) that the previous owner gave me with the truck and they worked pretty well until the drivers side plug got soaked in coolant from my dripping throttle body heater. No matter what I did that one wouldn't read correctly so I replaced it with a Bosch one and so far so good but it's only been maybe 8,000 miles.
Thanks for the reply. Was reading some other post that indicated the same so I ordered one up from Amazon and will give that a try. Anyone know why the vehicle throws that code rather then a maf code itself? Is it because I'm just using a standard obdII reader and not an oem tool?
Nope, the land rover equipment would give you the same code. It's because the MAF is still giving data that is within the range the computer is expecting, but not what it expects to see when you are in fourth gear. So the computer wonders how can I be seeing so little air (or maybe so much?) when I'm in 4th. Then it assumes that the gear ratio is wrong. Bad logic, obviously, but that's how it was programmed.
