One year we drove out to Colorado in the winter to ski and there were not any issues then, and it was very cold there.
So you can make the choice
Yea, thats how I have it. I'm relatively close to you in the SW corner of VA, so same climate. If you've had no problems then I'll just leave it be until I do have problems. Thanks!

I'm getting a lot of conflicting advice. For now I'm going to leave it bypassed. If I have any problems this winter then I'll fix it and also update this thread for anyone else who may have the same question as me in the future. Thanks everybody!

I have had mine bypassed for awhile. If my tb ever freezes open and I live to tell about it I will let you know.

After the $2300 of work it just had done, I don't have the $22 to spare right now. It's either food and gas to work/college or a throttle body heater.

Mine is also by-passed...and replaced the small plastic tubing with 5/16" fuel line.

In that case, the air is so cold that the ice won't stick. The worst conditions are high humidity and temperatures above freezing - perhaps as much as +20C.
