Default whistling airtake?

Sounds crazy but my air take makes a crazy whistling(almost like a bearing ) sound from time to time. Its a 98 disco le 98,780 miles. Iused seafoam in the airtake weeks ago and it made the same sound as I poured it in. Brought to my buddy muffler shop and he said that it soundslike its coming from there. Only does it at idle. Stops when I give it gas. What you guys think of this one. Yeah this rig makes the regular sounds but this one is annoying.

I'd check to make sure you dont have any leaks and such throughout your intake system. Tighten all your clamps and such. Also, do you have the liitle what appears to be a horn still attched at the beginning of your air intake system? Those are designed to quiet the system. Is the air filter restricted at all?

Maybe some rovers just like to whistle while they work.[sm=icon_rofl.gif]

weired thing is that when I bought the truck the under hood lineing was messed up by the air filter box. when I changed the filter it was covered in that material. the whole inside of the box was messy. my guess is that it suck some debri inside(hope not). by the way can i take that liner down with out it messing up my hood(burn spots).all clamps are tight dont see that horn thing.

Check the butterfly valve actuated by the throttle. It's only closed at idle - and if the area is dirty (carbon build up or your hood lining) it may whistle when closed.
