No, only a D2 tranny will work in your truck, D1 trannys are not electric like D2's.
What happen to yours?

thanks Mike. the tranny in my d2 started only going in reverse about 2 yrs ago. so i havent driven it obviously. I did finally take it to get checked out, and the shop first drained the tranny and found little fluid and lots of solid material. My fault there... I've been half looking for a cheap tranny, this 95 came to my attention, so I thought I'd give the forum a shout. I have also considered rebuilding. What are you thoughts here? I'm headed to work, I'll check in later. Thanks again.

Rebuilding is not a cheap option, check your local salvage yards for a 99 thru 02 tranny that they will guarantee or go to , http://www.roverlandparts.com/discov...-complete.aspx for $1350
