Resurrect an old thread, but still works!! Remember on a 2000 Disco you have to remove both sides, 6 screws total, and carefully pull out the ash tray, drink holder and coin tray assembly as one unit. I was fortunate as only the left side was broken, so I could use the right side to confirm how the broken one was to go together. Took the time to lightly grease the tracks it runs out on and gave it a good cleaning/wipeoff.
I had to drill a small hole in the housing as the idea of a zip tie through the existing opening caused the zip tie to rub on the coin tray assembly as it came out, impeding its travel. The small hole for the zip tie did the trick. At least I know how to change it when the zip tie lets go! 😂🤣
