Default Did the swap, now need help...

I swapped out my 4.6 with a 4.0 from another Range Rover. Everything is hooked up and it will crank but I do not get any spark. I used the wire harness from the 4.0 and hooked it into the 4.6 ECU. I have chased every where for the source that the coils use but I have not found it. I know it is not normal to do this but here I am.

Any help you can give is greatly appreciated.

Might be wrong but I think your ECU needs to be sent off to me remapped to work with a 4.0.

Why did you swap it out? Do you still have the 4.6? What year is the 4.6?

I never got my ecu remapped but it should still start. One thing i didn't do was change the wiring harness i used the 4.6 harness. I would just recommend just tracing your steps to see if you missed a sensor hook up which should be the logical answer.
But when you bought the engine did you hear it run or know that it would start before you bought it?

I agree, should use the 4.6 harness. As for the no start/ no spark, was the crank sensor damaged on the 4.0? This would cause a no spark oand or no fuel issue?

I heard it run and so that is why I was lost. I found that I must have damaged the crank sensor when I transported it. I replaced it and it fired right up. Drove it about 300 miles today and it worked great. I did not have to swap the wire harness over at all so that was nice.

All and all I am into this Rover only $2700 so I think it worked out in my favor, thanks for all your help. I love this forum.
