Smile Finally...My Disco Has A Brother (1998 Range Rover)

Hi,
I finally will have a 1998 Range Rover delivered in a few weeks. It has 126,000 miles on it. Converted to coil suspension. No warning lights. One owner carefully maintained. No rust or cosmetic issues. All internal parts work and no leaks are observed. I would like to know what I should check or replace to be safe. Crankshaft position sensor? O2 sensors? etc...

Rover on!
Matt

Coming soon. Though, I can never post pics because they are too big. Any suggestions?

Congrats on your purchase!

what I should check or replace to be safe. Crankshaft position sensor? O2 sensors?
You shouldn't need to replace them until a problem arises. O2 sensors will cause the engine to miss and run rough when warmed up, and it will throw a code stating its O2 sensors. The crankshaft position sensor will cause the car to die randomly, usually when coming to a stop. Mine started failing and the car stalled on me twice until I pulled the scanner out and figured out what it was. I took the sensor out, it was very dirty, cleaned it with gasoline, put it back in and its been fine now going on 2 months.

You should probably check the differential, transfer case, and transmission fluid, and replace if necessary. That is the first thing I did to mine when I got it.

BTW, you must have gotten a really good one, I've yet to come across a P38 that doesn't leak .
