Default Belt Tensioner Issue

My 95 Discovery has an auto-tensioning serpentine belt pulley, it seems to be stuck in a TIGHT position, and when I removed it to change belts, it wont go to a LOOSE position to re-install the newer/tighter belt...Maybe new tensioner time???

Yes-- time to replace it---your observation is correct and this is a common failure item on the Disco. I have them for $79.50 and in stock. Of course, you need to put a new serpentine belt on when you replace the tensioner. Also check the water pump and fan clutch unit while you are in there. The service life of these parts usually coincide. Read my tech tips on my site at www.eurotekapg.com for a good primer on what to look for on the Discovery.

Hate to be a spoiled sport. But he quoted the wrong tensioner for your application. Check again.

oops...yes, I quoted the wrong tensioner. The correct one is ERR3440 at $195.00---the one I quoted was for the Discovery II.

Sorry for the confusion
