Default Do Climate Control buttons below LCD light up?

Hello,
Could anyone tell me if the buttons on the Climate Control below the LCD (Disco 2) are supposed to be illuminated when lights are on. Seems like they sould but mine do not. If a bulb or led must be replaced, any tips on replacing it?

There is a bulb listed on the wiring diagram for the automatic temp unit. Here are some RAVE pages for it. Would appear to get module out you might have to pull out radio first, there might be a work around if you can slide some thing in on the side to ease off those spring clips.

I have the same problem, those lights burned out. The dealer told me they have a tool that slides in the space on the sides and releases the facia. I would like to see the tool so I can make one, Does anyone have a picture of that tool?

The RAVE says take out the radio first. If there is a special tool, it is usually referenced in the RAVE with LR ###### (number of tool). Some guys have had luck with the metal strips in Pendaflex file folders.

You can buy a stereo removal tool at Radio Shack, I think that also works for the HVAC head unit but I'm not 100% on that.

Default Still not sure about Climate Control Illumination

Thanks for the tips. I have Rave. I'm not entirely sure that the illumination question has been answered. Lots of helpful tips on removing the unit. So, am I correct that the buttons should be lit at night? If there is a bulb out, does anyone know if it is even replacable?

Yes the buttons light up. This should be the bulb you'll need.

I replaced my HOT/COLD switch bulbs a few months back. Here's what I used to remove the radio...have your patience ready it might take a minute to get the right depth to unclip the radio. I didn't take any more pictures because I was so frustrated by the time I got the radio out.

The HVAC unit is held in by 2 spring clips on the sides. You could also remove the lower part of the dash (pull out the coin holder and ash tray and unscrew it from there) and you may be able to pull the HVAC control unit out without removing the radio. Then remove the back of the HVAC and swap your bulbs out.
