Freelander V6 engine cranking but not starting
Hi guys, I have a 2001 Freelander 2.5 V6 KV6
Bought it only 1500km's ago, has been running fine, all of a sudden decided it doesn't want to start. Cranks but not firing at all. I have changed the ECU which didn't do anything. The engine runs on the spray starter fluid so there is spark. I have tried a noid set with the injectors and it seems they aren't firing at all..
Would I be right in thinking a possible crank or cam position sensor failure? If so how do I know which one?
Thanks
James

Problem solved on similar problem
My issue came up on a 2003 freelancer v6 with the ms43 engine control. Vehicle had a crank no start condition, vehicle had good fuel pressure but no spark or injector trigger, costumer had installed new crank and came sensor. After many hours of testing and changing sensors again found that the sensor style for the camshaft was updated and the two wires to the engine control needed to be swapped. After the swap the vehicle started.

An 8 year old mystery solved.
I'm having misfires and injector codes showing up on my 2004 Freelander V6 when warmed up, also yesterday when it really started to act up after getting it good and warmed up after a 10-15 minute drive it had the F4 on the dash display, also the hill descent warning light came on. Turned the key off and back on and it went away. Still had the misfire though.
I removed the CKP Sensor from the engine, cooled it off and stuck it back in the hot engine, and it ran great for about 30 seconds before it started acting up again, I am picking up a new Crank Sensor this morning.
I had read elsewhere that a failing CKP Sensor can cause transmission issues as well due to the Transmission ECU using the signal from the CKP for transmission/torque converter input speed.
