Default High rev on startup now that it is cold

First 40ish degree day and D2 stays at high throttle when started, very high. I am used to a little but this is like revving it. Concerned when it gets really cold that thick oil could damage the engine. Any idea what the problem may be?

It might be your IACV. Try removing and cleaning out your idle air control valve with throttle body cleaner

2100 RPM for 5 min then steps down 500 every 30-40 sec. to settle around 800-900 after about 10 min. BTW yesterday at 60 degrees this happened.

2nd the IACV.

also look for leaks after the MAF.

while running spray brake cleaner all all hoses, gaskets, and connections. If you get a change in the motor you will have found the leak.

try under the upper intake, could be injectors as well.

no codes?
