Well I got ready to bleed my disco late yesterday and of course it has the older top radiator hose (2000 discovery). And of course the bleed screw broke as soon as I went to turn it and a thin line of coolant now comes out.

Picking up the new hose today. I just bought the truck recently and the thermostat looks newer but I was wondering, is there a way to tell whether it is the 180 while it is still on the truck? I don't have my ultraguage yet to tell what temps it is running on site.

Just titled it yesterday so I could drive it after working on it for 6 months. Ready for this thing to drive me to work at least once

 

The 180 thermos for the Discos (petrol) have become quite popular recently on this forum. One vendor makes them in a gray color, another in the cream/white color. I'd say if the thermostat looks like it has been there for a year it is unlikely to be a 180. You could remove and boil it, you could watch heat temps with a scanner or Ultra Gauge, etc. But a new thermostat might be the way to go. Justin at Lucky 8 can make sure you get the right one. And there is this fix for bleed screws.... note the string of bubbles in the drain tube, which goes to a bucket and not all over the garage floor. There will be more than one or two bubbles.

Looks like I'm going by the LR shop today. LR is $119 where Atlantic British is $100 plus $10 dollars shipping and about 4-5 days wait time. Don't like either answer but it is what it is.
