Default LR3 Key Fob issue?

Hi, I have something strange happening with my key remote fob on my 2006 LR3. When you push the lock button it locks the door as its supposed to. When you push the lock button again (not the unlock button), it unlocks the door but the alarm is still set....so if you proceed to open the door (which you can) the alarm goes off. Ive never had the lock button be able to unlock the door like its doing now. (The unlock button still seems to work properly). I will add that the car battery went out last week and was replaced with a new one....so I can surmise that this symptom has something to do with that. Maybe the change caused the remote programming to be altered? Any thoughts? thanks

I've never heard of that. I sell and code remotes. The only explanation I have is that the case might be flexing and pushing both buttons?

I doubt the battery incident is related, but anything is possible.

I would try a hard reset(remove both battery cables, sheildbattery and jump a wire from positive cable to negative for 10 min).

good luck

Thanks for the reply. Im wondering if I go thru the sync procedure for that key fob it it would help. I have another key fob that works properly and i dont want to screw that one up by doing the sync. You have any experience with syncing the fob....will syncing one have any affect on the other? thx.

I'm not sure what sync procedure you are talking about. I use an Autologic to code the remotes.

honestly I don't think it will do anything, sounds like your remote is faulty being that the other works fine.
