OBD: not co-operating
My CEL is ringin off the hook, my OBD is DOA. I'm having some injector issues but they geotta wait for the OBD fix. That's 1st, then I have injector issues.
I need a bit of guidance on the OBD. There's power at the port, my ULTRA GAUGE lites, just no readings. Savannah pointed me at a header under the glove box I couldn;t identify the lavender #20 lead or the #16, I believe those are the #'s. That's where I'm stalled.
So any enlightened comments would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
PS this thing's ('00 D2) is sluggin' down gas like I got stock in the Persian Gulf...

Let's try these diagrams. The diagnostic port has a wire that is purple and brings the power. It must be OK, because the UG powers up. The ground should be OK also.
The data for the OBDII is sent on the pink wire on pin 7. But that same pink wire goes over to a header under the HVAC fan, and ties into all of the ECUs on the truck. So with a Test Book (dealer computer) they can talk to all of the computer modules.
I suspect that you will find that some module or wires to it are grounding out that pink wire, and killing the data on it from any module. Module may not even notice itself.

Savannah, I pulled C0286, I checked all the pins, 1,2,19 & 20 were closed to ground, the rest were open. I'm digging thru the Rave service and electrical manuals...getting an education.
I'll check the from the C0286 to the OBD port next, verify it's still alive. And then, go from there.
Thanks again
