so it seems everytime i take my car in it comes back with a new problem. The car was fine unti l a day ago i'm sitting at a light and the smoke started coming heavy and still is. I'm going to take it back in but don't want to be told it's something it's not and be over charged. any suggestions? 02 disco II

 

Try and catch some of it on a piece of glass, and see if it condenses into water droplets. If so, head gasket. Sorry. :-}

 

Did the car ever overheat, loose coolant? If so, you can fix the leak but the damage may have already been done internally. Usually head gaskets or dropped liner will give you that white smoke ( does it smell sweet like coolant?).
unfortunalty heat is these motors worst enemy! Good luck

 

there was a coolant leak and i start school monday so to save $$$$ i figured i would be ok to just make sure there was coolant in it. the leak was in the top of the radiator right next to the screw that i can't figure why it's there. So if the head gasket is the issue what should i expect for a quote? Labor? parts?
