Coolant light on in cold weather
Got the printout from Autozone. I thought all 2013 LR2s were turbo, and it's definitely not diesel. Got any friends around Baltimore you recommend? I can take it to my regular place (they're pretty good and will tell me if they can't handle it) or the dealer if absolutely necessary.
fwiw, despite the assumptions; my dealer completes work efficiently as they know the vehicle. And price fairly.
The one time I had a simple job of the brakes completed not at the dealer, I was back at the dealer within 6 months to get the brakes done again... The Independent’s charge was equal to the dealer’s. The quality of the parts was severely lacking...
If the turbo is cracked (a common issue on the Ford ecoboost engine). it can be welded... but there would be no warranty on the fix.
Many don’t realize that all dealers provide a 1 year warranty on parts and service provided at the dealer...

but back to the subject line... I too have the 2013 model. I suspect there is sufficient expansion/contraction during the cold winter months as it is only in the winter that I need to top up the coolant. I always fill to slightly above the maximum mark and let the level come to an equilibrium on its own.
While on the topic of coolant, have you ever done a coolant flush on your engine? After this many years it is really important as the fluid becomes corrosive over a long time.

I can't remember, but it's a good deal with the veteran's discount. I also do the engine oil flush but I do that with Liqui-Moly's product. I dump it in there for 10 minutes before I drive into the Jiffy Lube stall.
Hi everyone! I have a 2013 LR2 which I’ve owned for 3 years. Each winter the coolant warning light comes on. It goes on and off while I’m driving. I park in my garage overnight and there is no evidence of a leak on the floor. Temp gage reads normal.
Any ideas, and should I be concerned about this?
Thanks!
