Default 2005 LR3 will not start please help!

I apologize if this has been covered, however I haven't seen my particular issue. when I go to crank vehicle it acts like it's in gear and doesn't turn over radio headlights on as normal. I would move shifter from park to neutral and it would crank normally. I wouldn't have the issue for a while then it would act up again.and it stopped cranking in neutral. I would have to rapidly move the gear shifter back and forth a few times and eventually it would start now that's hit or miss. I thought it was a neutral safety switch related and dealer says that the switch is built in to the shifter assembly and not a seperate part. Well after purchasing the shifter assembly, still will not start. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated and thanks in advance!

Have you checked the shift lever on the side of the trans to see if it’s bound or anything looks off?

That’s all I got at the moment.

Any trans related codes? It will store codes without showing an SES light in the TCM.
