Hey all Bluetoothies. Thanks for bumping this thread--I just picked up my '06 and had no idea this was possible, it looks "fun" and it's cheap. Perfect project. Quick question though?: Can one of these boards support phone integration? I don't have the BT module (at least I don't think so, it doesn't show as connectable). I assume I'd need to run a mic to the front of the truck but the boards seem to support, or even include, a mic.

Like @chakadog, I know nothing of this stuff. Thanks for any input.

These eBay boards are a solution for streaming music only via the AUX input

Doug - thanks for making that clear. I had gotten in my head a misconception from the original Reddit post that this new BT board for music was also handling calls. But no... calls are handled as before.

I think there was a group of 2005~2010 where the Land Rover LR3, RR and RRS had AUX jacks and Bluetooth but for calls ONLY. My calls work FINE i just hate having to connect the AUX cable from my iphone plus the Lightning adapter and route it to the back of the console. I grabbed a $6 Chinese dev board that took 10 days to deliver off Ebay. It has AUDIO IN, and AUDIO OUT and 12v power jacks. The nice part about this board is you don't lose the functionality of the AUX jack and it auto-pairs to your phone with the ignition coming on and off. I am paired to BOTH the bluetooth in the LR3 for calls AND the BT module from china at the same time. Calls do stop the music and I can pickup or hangup from the steering wheel and music switches right back over. The AUX input button on the dash allows the bluetooth Aux and has no impact on Sirius radio or the other inputs.
👆That's from the original Reddit poster. Which is exactly the functionality we're looking for. My car has the HK audio, and the little green screen. Phone pairs with the stock LR3 but quality is not good. Any thoughts on upgrading from the not-great LR3 BT module to an LR4 BT module (for the phone) as part of this project, as discussed HERE? Will the systems play nicely together? Seems likely but again, I'm no electrical engineer.

I have considered the LR4 upgrade but haven't tackled it yet
I imagine that the functionality would be similar, just better quality phone calls/contact list/etc
