Default AUX Port

Just wanted to clarify that the aux plug in the rear of the center console is 3.5mm. I tried to plug into it for the first time the other day and the plug would not push in. If it is 3.5 mm then there is something stuck in the plug receptacle itself.

Anyone disassemble the rear console area? If so, tips and instructions to get at the aux receptacle would be greatly appreciated.

It's possible that something is stuck in it. I know I've read other instances of people having plugs that have broken off stuck in the aux port. Some people also use blanks in order to trick the system into thinking there's something in the port so that they can tie audio into the system at a different point (e.g. behind the glovebox or the passenger side foot panel).

The rear console area isn't hard to disassemble, but I don't think you need to disassemble the entire thing... I thought that part just pulled out separately, but I can't verify right now. The electronics on the backside are not standard by the way... It's not just a 3.5mm jack with two wires coming out. There's a bunch of noise reduction circuitry behind that plastic panel.

Yep, Just pry out bezel holding entire assembly in the console. Easy peasy.

Figured it out this afternoon... the tabs are on the top lip of the 12v/aux insert so just squeeze down and pull. Managed to get the broken piece out... thanx for help.
