Default Driver door won't open

My driver door won't open. From inside or outside. It's stuck in locked position.
My remote, inside button, even manually won't unlock.
What causes this and how can I get it unstuck?
I did a search and saw the how to - to take panels off. But if its closed will I still be able to get panel off ?

You cannot manually put the latch in the "unlock" position and open the door???

If that's the case, you'll have to pull the door panel and operate the latch manually.

The door has a lock motor and a super lock motor. One potential problem is that superlock is engaged (can't open inside or out), and the cable that drives it is has now become open (door flex cable broken internally). It can't get the signal to unlock. And even if you get to the cable (wire colors black/purple and black/green) inside the truck putting 12 volts on it may not help as you will be on the other side of the break.

If an owner wanted to disable the superlock function, they could snip the black purple wire at the central junction box. As long as doors are not superlocked to begin with.

Attached wiring diagrams and shop pages on the door panel and latch removal. Might cause discouraging words to be heard.

No. You will need to move the mechanism by hand.

If this is the cause, cutting the wires will prevent it from doing it again.

Important point for those new to the door locks, they are called lock motors for a reason, they actually are a small DC motor. Power is applied in one direction to lock, and reversed to make motor move in the other direction to unlock. Superlock is a second lock motor that over rides all physical latches. So they can bash the glass and still snag the laptop, just won't be able to get the new BBQ grille out the window.

I didn't think that the so-called "Super Lock" feature actually did anything, on my '05 at least. I remember reading about it in the manual, trying it...and thinking it simply was not installed and possibly just left in the literature after being copy/pasted from the RR manual.
