Default H8 battery fit question

Just replaced an old smaller H7 with a new Interstate MTP-49 H8. Fit the tray alright and the leads fit well but the battery tie down bracket doesn't seem to fit as well. Anybody have a similar issue? The "cap" portion on the interstate seems to be a different shape. The base of the battery also very slightly obscures one or the other threaded holes that receive the bracket screws. Making sure I'm not doing something wrong. TIA

H7, group 94R, is the proper size and matches the factory size. The H8 is not the correct size and will not fit well.

It is used fairly frequently and actually shows up as the correct battery for most parts stores/brands. I know there are many out there, just wanted to know who else has dealt with this for the H8. I assume all V8 LR3s have the same size tray / compartment? I have an 06 V8 SE.

I've had 2 Interstate H8 - I forget which exact sub-model (but I can check my old invoice tonight to confirm)
I currently have a Duracell Platinum AGM H8

Sure they were tight getting in, but everything fit fine and bolted down easily once in place (4.4 V8)

. . . maybe you accidentally rotated the strap 180º? and the battery is oriented correctly? (I know, just checking)
I vaguely remember that it only goes in 1 way - and 1 bolt may be shorter than the other - but I could be confusing this with my other car

Odyssey 49-950 is a good battery for these pigs!

Will check again, thanks for the suggestion.
