I have not had it recur in the last 1 1/2 years, so don't know what it was, but have got a IIDTool always in the vehicle so if it ever happens again I'll be able to at least see and record any problems. Intermittent problems are always hard to solve, but since I plan on keeping this vehicle for a while there is a possibility of solving and resolving the problem, maybe, perhaps... possibly...

Hi Elrobo (I know it has been a while),
I am strongly believing that that acceleration issue was due to a poor electrical ground, reasoning being that the dual sensory inputs to the ECU from the accelerator pedal require a reference ground and since I fixed the grounding, have not had any problem. Now that may not be the whole story, but in my case all has been well since I cleaned those electrical grounds. I did get a new accelerator pedal assembly but it really was no different than the original, so I actually can't be totally positive, all I can say is that these machines apparently need really good electrical connections and grounding, or you are going to experience very strange operational issues. I am thankful that I got lucky with mine...

Just to update, had this sudden acceleration issue happen again about 2 months ago (July 2022) and replaced the throttle body with a brand new one, no problems yet but will report back if it happens again...

Well it did happen again yesterday so I am now investigating the wiring diagrams and thinking about ECU replacement/programming. Will keep all informed of any updates, there are still no codes, very strange...

I am here to report that the sudden acceleration problem was in the steering column wiring for the cruise control, it has been 1 1/2 years since I disabled the cruise control in software using the OBDTool. Unfortunately my health has deteriorated and I can't work on it right now, but if I live and get to work on it I'll report nack...
